Ingredients

  • 8 oz Brie cheese, cut into wedges
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, cut into cubes
  • 6 oz sliced mozzarella or white cheese for Halloween shapes
  • 12 oz salami, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz deli turkey, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups red grapes
  • 1 cup black grapes
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 4 kiwis, halved
  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 4 celery stalks, cut into sticks
  • 2 cups round crackers
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup cheese cubes
  • 1 cup creamy spinach or ranch dip
  • Edible candy eyes

Cooking Instructions

  1. 01

Prepare the cheese: Cut cheddar into small cubes. Use Halloween cookie cutters to cut ghosts and other spooky shapes from slices of white cheese.

  2. 02

Make salami roses: Fold each salami slice in half and overlap several slices around each other. Roll them gently to create rose shapes.

  3. 03

Prepare the dip: Spoon the creamy dip into a small round bowl. Pipe thin lines across the surface to create a spiderweb pattern, then place a small edible spider decoration in the center.

  4. 04

Start the board: Place the dip bowl near the center of a large rectangular serving board.

  5. 05

Add the meats: Arrange the salami roses and folded turkey slices around the dip, creating generous clusters.

  6. 06

Add the cheeses: Place Brie, cheddar cubes, and Halloween-shaped cheese throughout the board.

  7. 07

Arrange the fruit: Add clusters of red and black grapes, blackberries, and kiwi halves around the board.

  8. 08

Fill the gaps: Arrange crackers, celery sticks, baby carrots, and extra cheese cubes in separate sections.

  9. 09

Add Halloween decorations: Place candy corn, edible eyes, ghost-shaped cheese, and pumpkin-shaped cheese pieces throughout the board.

  10. 10

Serve: Refrigerate until ready to serve, then let the cheeses sit at room temperature for about 15–20 minutes before enjoying.

Chef notes

- Use a large board: A rectangular slate or wooden board gives you plenty of space for a generous Halloween spread. - Create a centerpiece: Place the spiderweb-decorated dip in the middle, then build the arrangement outward. - Make salami roses: Fold or roll thin slices of salami into roses for an elegant, festive touch. - Add spooky shapes: Cut cheese into ghosts, bats, and pumpkins using small cookie cutters. - Mix colors and textures: Combine creamy cheeses, crisp crackers, juicy grapes, berries, vegetables, and cured meats for visual contrast. - Keep crackers crisp: Add crackers shortly before serving, especially if the board will sit out for a while. - Prepare ahead: Cut the cheese and vegetables and wash the fruit a few hours in advance. Assemble the board closer to serving time. - Add edible eyes last: Place candy eyes on fruit and other items just before serving so they stay in place. - Make it kid-friendly: Include colorful fruit, carrot sticks, cheese cubes, and a small bowl of candy corn for a fun Halloween touch. - Serve at room temperature: Let cheeses and cured meats sit out briefly before serving so their flavors are at their best.
